SPOTLIGHT ON AMB ADA OSSAI

Everyone needs the love, care, acceptance and support of their family, loved ones and the society at large to make it through life successfully. Albinos need this even more. Most times it is easy to get the love of family and loved ones probably because blood is thicker than water. Getting such love, care and acceptance from the society is a totally different story.
My name is Amb Ada Ossai. I'm an actor, a filmmaker, current member of the Golden movie ambassadors of Nigeria and the founder! Voice of Albinos (VOA).

I was born in the 90's into a wonderful family of seven, we have three Albinos and four black skinned.
Growing up as an Albino child was a wonderful experience being around my family. I was showered with all the love and care a child could ever ask for. On the other hand, it was a different experience entirety when I had to leave home for school. I got bullied by my classmates because of my low vision impediment.

At a point I hated being an Albino. I was loosing my self esteem as a child and they were too many psychological trauma. Still, I thank God for my very loving and encouraging family that kept me going. But the truth was, I needed more than my family at this point. I needed the society to accept me and understand that I'm just the same as they are. With time, I learnt that people's opinion of you doesn't have to become your reality as you can be whoever you want to be irrespective of what others think.

Coming into the movie industry and pursuing my career as an actor wasn't really easy. I faced so many challenges as an Albino, I was denied certain roles because of my skin color. #Smiles# but thank God for the zeal that kept me determined and focused.
Today I'm a proud Albino, living up to my dreams and   achieving great success. I say No to Stigmatization! This brought about the birth of VOA. Voice of Albinos is a platform that lends voice to the voiceless Albino who is Aspiring to be an entertainer and also create a medium for them to explore.
